WHY WAS GULF COAST DEPOT CREATED?

In short, Gulf Coast Depot was created so that local customers could more easily find and support local businesses.

WHO SHOULD SIGN UP?

Any business on the Gulf Coast, no matter if it is a one man show or a large multi site business, are encouraged to list their business on Gulf Coast Depot. (It's free, so what do you have to lose!)

COULD MY BUSINESS BE DENIED MEMBERSHIP?

Short answer, yes. Before approving your membership we do verify that you are indeed a real person within the Alabama, Mississippi, or Florida area. Also, businesses that sell items that require a minimum age to purchase, will be allowed to list their business in the directory, but will not be able to sell their items directly on the site.

WHAT IS THE COST?

There is no cost to add your business to Gulf Coast Depot. You can list your business information in the directory or choose to also sell your products or services directly from the Gulf Coast Depot website. Gulf Coast Depot will charge a 20% commission on items sold from the site which includes credit card transaction fees.

Details and Suggestions

Standard Member

You will initially set up your profile page to include your contact info, social media links, webpage etc., but remember to update your summary often with new products or sales you are running. Be creative with your page banner; use it to display products, events, or current sales. All business pages are searchable so it is very important that you list your business under the correct category when signing up. If you do not see a category that you feel fits your business, message us and we will help you in selecting a category or adding a new one . Customers can find you by searching for your business name, but we want you to find new customers which is why we stress the importance of selecting the correct category. The Standard Membership includes the option to list up to 20 tems that can be purchased directly from your store front. You can also list your items for auction, sell digital products or have your customers schedule a service automatically through your page. Sometimes listing examples of "types" of items you offer may work better for your business instead of traditional listings. Items like custom t-shirts, cakes, or landscaping are a few items that would work well under a sample product listing. To do this, list your product or services with an image from a previous job, set the inventory to zero and in the details give a range of what this type of item typically costs. It is important that when you list an item or service that you enter appropriate tags/keywords so that customers and GCD are able to find them when searching for your item. Do not forget to join the GCD Facebook group page to collaborate with other GCD members. Also, please be on the lookout for emails requesting confirmation of your business info for the annually printed directory.

Marketplace Member

In addition to the options listed in the Standard Membership, the Premium Membership includes the option to list up to 100 products that can be purchased directly through GCD. . In order to appear in the quarterly newsletter email please watch for emails titled Newsletter Approval so that you can "ok" the information we have listed. Marketplace members will also receive invites to be included in additional marketing campaigns on social media, radio, WebAds etc.
